Functionality

Main Street Yoga already had a site, with an established purpose: to provide information about the studio, including current classes and workshops, and allow clients to pre-register for classes online. The site was built on pure code, however, and was difficult to keep updated with new classes, workshops and information.

Solution

I converted the site to use Wordpress as a content-management system, both for continuity and for easy updating. Subsequent projects included adding a studio blog and further developing the PayPal payment system.

Design

Debra wanted a more contemporary and consistent design throughout the site, while still maintaining some of the original look and logo.

Solution

I retained the colour scheme and main images from the old design, but tightened up the layout to achieve a cleaner look. I also upgraded the site to use CSS and validated code for consistency. Debra provided several drawings of yoga poses by artist Larry Keach to incorporate into the new header for additional visual interest.
