Services provided: Design
With their annual conference coming up, Lean Forum approached me about updating the design and layout of their existing website, to be developed and implemented by Grenland Web. They were specifically looking for improved ways to integrate photos, organise their extensive content and keep their home page looking fresh and streamlined while it pulls content from several areas of the site.
I exchanged the gradients, multiple fonts and irregular image sizes of the old design for a more grid-based, textured layout with a limited colour palette and font stack, and standardised image sizes. In some cases I used typography in place of photos, such as the dates in the second section of the front page. I also suggested consolidating several navigation menus in the header and sidebars into a single drop-down menu, enhancing the page's call to action, and replacing their varied social media icons with a uniform, single-colour icon set.
