Functionality

Concussion Assessment and Management Services of Ontario is part of a well-established clinic, but they did not yet have a web presence. Their primary goal was creating a site that provides information and answers to common questions about the impact of concussions in children. Recently, considerable media attention has been devoted to the potential long-term effects of sports concussions, so CAMSO wanted to address misconceptions around the issue while also getting their contact information online.

Solution

I built the site with WordPress so it can be easily updated with new information. Since the target audience covers a wide range, I paid particular attention to making the site content accessible and functional in as many device/browser combinations as possible.

Design

The site needed to present a lot of information without being too overwhelming. The design had to accommodate both the casual visitor looking for a brief introduction and the concerned parent seeking detailed advice.

Solution

I used imagery selected by CAMSO to add visual interest to an otherwise text-heavy site, and kept the colour palette neutral and the layout clean without being completely conventional. A simple image slider on the front page is the most complex element of the design. Each page has a defined section for a highlighted lead-in before the main text content begins.
